SHAW MUSIC SERVICE
Learn, Play, Perform
Community music groups, Instrumental tuition and School projects.
Shaw Music Service works locally to increase access to quality music education opportunities.
We provide instrumental music lessons across all disciplines for adults and children.
We run music groups and programs in schools and community centres.
We aim to make music more accessible in the community by inspiring people to believe they can perform the skills that they have learnt, developed, or simply remembered and refreshed.
Community is at the heart of everything we do, local charities benefit from our concerts and local people are always the stars of our shows.

Learn a musical instrument, Play in a music group, Perform to an audience.
Learn, Play, Perform.
We recognise that all our staff and tutors are traveling the musical pathway along with our students, schools and establishments and the music we make will colour the memory of everyone’s journey.
Shaw Music Service was formed in 2010 by Guy James a music teacher from Bolton and the creator of The Bolton and Manchester Guitar Orchestra’s. Motivated by the demise of live music in the local area and the lack of access to contemporary music lessons, he began teaching independently and organising live music events.
Shaw music groups are now well established in the community and our live events like St Mary’s Festival, The Christmas Light Switch On and Picnic in the Park have raised great amounts of money for local charities. A dedicated team of staff now work to support our classes and programs and uphold our ethos as the custodians of local music.
‘I am committed to developing life skills, forging lasting relationships and enriching lives through the power of music’. Guy James
Our key areas of business are community and after school music groups, music curriculum, wider opportunities and instrumental tuition.
